We had our first official BBQ on our rooftop. It was great fun and hopefully marks the beginning of a tradition as the (freakishly hot) summer comes along. Oh, and I’m sorry for being totally lazy with this thing. But you know, sometimes it’s more fun living your life than documenting it (even though it’s mostly work keeping me busy).

Your Majesty just moved into a new offices. From Broadway to Union Square. It’s the sweetest office space I’ve seen so far in my entire life. Spacious and clean. Majestic and open. Almost unreal. The rooftop is amazing as well and will serve as a nice hangout for after work fun!

The One Show

Long story short. Earlier this year, I joined a team from Berghs School of Communication/Hyper Island to help out visualizing a concept for Nooka and the One Show College competition. Fast forward a couple of months. Nomination. Fast forward. They traveled over here for some portfolio reviews and to get a taste of New York. Fast forward again. We attended and won a silver. Which is extra cool when nobody won a gold pencil. So it’s almost like a gold. Except another team also got a silver. Anyways. I came mostly for the free booze. But the pencil with my name engraved on it was pretty sweet.

Oh, and Helin got loser drunk.

Me and Helin has finally set ourselves up in our new apartment. It has a slanted floor, is really bright and has tons of personality. We also have a bar on the first floor where they serve free Bloody Mary’s with every brunch. Also, most of the buildings down Bedford Ave looks like candy. It basically feels like living in a never ending music festival. And I like it a lot.

Now we just need some furniture…

Last week I went to see OK Go with Helin, who also happens to be the one hustled me in. For that I am eternally grateful. Because there are few words that can describe how awesome this concert was. But I hope my word for it (and the pictures, of course) will do.

So I went to this exhibition called Wordplay in the fifth floor of the New York Times building. For anyone interested in typography and design (like me) it was a feast for the eyes. With contributors from all over the world and a wide range of style and techniques, it was inspiring for sure.

Yesterday we went straight from work to see Fibes, oh Fibes! at The White Slab. Christian Olsson (the singer) was the Marketing Director at Hyper Island until 2010 when he decided to focus on his music. Naturally, the place was packed with Swedes as they tend to appear in large groups. There is strength in numbers, apparently.
